Sculpting In Clay

Sheriff Hooper

I chose this character to sculpt because it is mainly made up of sphere shapes that could be made out of styrofoam.

I then drew the simple shape of the character to scale.
From this image I could measure out the length of wire I needed.

Using styrofoam I filled out the main shape of the character.
I did this to make my character lighter and to hold it's shape.

Then laying the plasticine over the top.

Making a cylinder in the clay and cutting out the centre I could
then wrap it around the wire to create the arm.

I then did the same for the legs, and then added the hands.
I wish I could have added more detail for the hands
but the model was to small to be able to get that
much detail.

For the ears I rolled the clay into a spiral and then pressed it against the head.

The facial features were difficult to make, next time I will make the model
larger so sculpting the smaller parts will be easier.

For the hair I twisted a scalpel into the clay.

Adding all the little features.

Finished model
